Well its time for me to do another guide for those of you stuck with the PM system.
I have implemented a way that works elegantly with Fireboard simply using the MyPMS Enhanced and module.
Ok firstly, install the MyPMS enhanced component attached to this thread, this is a packed file with component and module so it will need unpacking first.
After unpacking and installing the component in the usual way you need to activate it in the Fireboard Configuration , choose myPMS as your Pm system and hit save.
This is the english version for those of you, like me, that could only find the german version.
Now go into Site → Template manager → Module Positions
Add the module fb_1 and call it what you want, I called mine fireboard advert
Now install the pmsnotify module in the unpacked file
Publish this to your newly created module position (so mine would say fireboard advert in the module positions)
Next go into your module and choose what sections you would like to be included on the forum template, in my case I only wanted new messages/inbox link and a write messages link.

There you have it, a simple to use and elegant way to have your pm system working within fireboard that looks like it was meant to be there in the first place.
